1. What is so special about boiled wool?

A. It is durable, weather repellent, controls temperature, is pre-shrunk and light as a feather. Let's examine just what boiled wool is - very simply: New wool is either woven or knit into material. "Boiled wool" or "Walk" is made from knitted material only. Woven fabrics that are felted are called "Loden". When the materials are boiled, they shrink into a compact but lightweight material from which garments are cut.

2. Why are Geiger products so exclusive?

A. Because they produce only high quality products. Buyers order at least 6 months prior to the next season, so only a limited number of products are produced - only what is pre-ordered. There is no "mass" production by Geiger of Austria.
Their clothing is not your regular "off the rack" quality. It is a much higher quality. Their designs and styles are strictly for their own products. The workmanship is also very highly controlled. Many of the products have actual handwork on each piece and some products are even hand knit or crocheted.

3. Why do you carry Geiger of Austria clothing?

A. We carry Geiger of Austria trademark clothing because we want to give more people who cannot find boutique clothing that suits them, the opportunity to purchase good quality, designer fashions on the Internet.
It is also our intention to offer a better, higher class of clothing to those who are not interested in going into multiple stores looking for good quality clothing, a chance to shop with much less stress or physical fatigue. Remember our "Motto"

4. Where did you get the idea to carry Geiger of Austria?

A. Having lived in Europe and experienced a different quality, design and style that was unique and comfortable, the search was on! There is good quality clothing available, don’t misunderstand, however, the uniqueness of the Alpine coats and capes, is just something a person falls in love with. It is usually a “try it, you will like it" situation.

5. How can I compare Geiger Products to other products?

A. This is just a suggestion. Go into your favorite shopping area or to shops that sell designer clothing and start asking around. Ask to be shown a jacket, skirt, or coat - in a classic walk weight or lightweight boiled wool (100% New Wool). If the salesperson doesn't know what you mean, keep looking until you find a salesperson that does. Then draw your own conclusions.

6. Dry Clean? Washing Instructions?

DISCLAIMER:
Please refer to care instructions attached to each separate garment. Care labels for some garments state machine wash as an alternative to professional dry cleaning. We recommend hand washing over machine washing. If you choose to use a washing machine, please follow instructions indicated through care symbols precisely, especially since each washing machine type performs differently. We do not recommend the use of agitator machines since the fabric surface gets stressed during washing. This could result in fading of the dye, roughing up of the fabric surface and a shorter life span for your garment. Please note that neither CHIC FASHIONS nor GEIGER will take responsibility for garments damaged due to incorrect treatment.
